The Kansas City Star describes Margaret Marco's oboe playing as "wistful and utterly engaging," while the Dubuque Telegraph Herald reports "Marco's deft and lilting expression ...was often reminiscent of a soprano's operatic aria." Dr. Marco's "utterly engaging" performances have been heard in Europe, South and Central America, Canada and the United States. Her musical appointments have included principal oboe of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Maracaibo in Venezuela, the Spoleto Festival in Spoleto, Italy, the Rome Festival Orchestra, Banff Center for the Arts in Alberta, Canada and many others. Dr. Marco has appeared as soloist with numerous orchestras including the Orquesta Sinfònica de Maracaibo, the Rome Festival Orchestra, the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra, the Dubuque Symphony and the St. Joseph Symphony. She is the Associate Professor of Oboe at the University of Kansas, where she has taught since 1998. She holds degrees from Northwestern University, the University of Iowa and the University of Illinois. Her teachers include Ray Still, Grover Schiltz and Nancy Ambrose King.

Dr. Marco has played with the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra since 1998.   She performs frequently with the Kansas City Symphony, the Kansas City Lyric Opera, the Kansas City Ballet Orchestra and is a founding member of the Chamber Music Society of Kansas City.   As the faculty oboist at the Ameropa Chamber Music Festival in Prague, Czech Republic, Dr. Marco performed and coached student chamber music groups from 2001-2003. She has performed at the International Double Reed Society Conferences in 1997, 2003, 2005 and 2006. An active solo performer, she has performed for audiences at the University of Michigan, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the University of Costa Rica in San Jose.   Last summer, Dr. Marco spent two weeks performing and teaching at Mozartissimo , a chamber music festival in Madrid, Spain.
