Bassoonist Eric Stomberg enjoys a wide-ranging musical career as soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player and pedagogue. He is quickly becoming one of the most sought after artist teachers in the country with numerous invitations to give recitals and work with the bassoon studios at conservatories and schools of music around the country. His students have gone on to study at major conservatories and schools of music including the Eastman School of Music, Juilliard School, New England Conservatory, Oberlin Conservatory, University of Michigan, and others.

Eric maintains an active teaching and performing schedule with positions at the University of Kansas, Interlochen Arts Academy and as a newly appointed member of City Music Cleveland. Prior to this appointment, he spent four years as a member of the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra of Columbus and five years with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. In the summer, Eric teaches at the world-renowned, Interlochen Arts Camp, where he also serves as the Assistant Director of the Music Program.

Eric holds the Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Kansas. His major teachers include William Winstead, Alan Hawkins, and Gregg Randall.

In his spare time, Eric enjoys working on his 1971 Saab, playing tennis and spending time with his wife Karen and their two dogs on their 5-acre "farm" in Kansas.
