As announced in the display ad in the September 7th issue of the Chronicle of Higher Education, we anticipate the following openings for 2008 - 2009 in the Department of Art and the Department of Design.
The Department of Art is divided into the areas of drawing and
painting, printmaking, sculpture and expanded media (performance,
installation and mixed media). The faculty is diverse and committed
to professional studio activity. The Department of Art has received
several international residency grants and continues to organize
ambitious visiting artist programs.

The Department of Design includes several areas of study: ceramics,
design management, industrial design, interaction design, interior
design, jewelry/metalsmithing, photomedia, scenography, textile
design, visual art education and visual communication (graphic
design/illustration). Exceptional faculty and state-of-the-art
facilities provide an environment that cultivates an optimal
educational experience in each area of study.
We anticipate two openings; a demonstrated high level of accomplishment in personal creative research is required for each.
Interior Design - Assistant Professor. MFA or equivalent and professional experience required. Excellence in teaching required, as demonstrated by past record
Visual Communication (Graphic Design) - Assistant Professor. Masters and professional experience required. Commitment to teaching in graphic design as evidenced by teaching philosophy statement. Relevant teaching experience preferred.
